Computer Coding

Students will learn coding concepts using Scratch 3.0 to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations; and share them in the online community. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

Creative Crafts

Dance Funk

A fun and upbeat hip hop style dance class where students develop coordination, rhythm and funk through this up-to-date style of dance. Every class starts off with a warm up where students follow Ms. Lisa and then a warm up dance that the students know off by heart, we then practice moves learned and new moves going down the floor, we then practice our Dance for our final Show. The last few minutes of classes consist of some kind of creative movement game to release energy and promote creativity. 

Fun With Tech

Come and explore a variety of different applications using ipads and chromebooks. The class will be divided between learning how to use technology (Google Slides and Prezi) and participate in fun, social, game based learning with curriculum connections on apps such as Kahoot. Students will be given free time on the iPads to check out the newest and latest award winning apps. Students can bring their own device or use iPads provided by the instructor.

LEARN TO Draw

Drawing can be fun and easy. The instructor has been teaching art to children for 20 years. Basic to advance drawing techniques using colour pencils, oil pastel and chalk pastel and more will be explored. Children are to bring their own colour pencils and sketch book. All other material will be included.

LEGO

Lego Lego Lego! will enable every child to succeed through playful learning experiences. Students will explore the concepts of volume, capacity, area, and perimeter, patterning and structural stability with Lego bricks. Time for free building will be allotted.

Multi-Sport

You demanded it and here it is! Join Canada's fastest growing sport at the ground floor. Follow in the footsteps of Andrew Wiggins, Corey Joseph and Kia Nurse as Canadian basketball players who honed their craft here and later succeeded at the highest level. Practice your fundamentals while learning more advanced techniques in offense and defense. Emphasis will be on passing and team play as well as shooting form, rebounding and lay-ups. Playball

The Playball program nurtures essential life skills such as independence, self-confidence, courage, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Spring Sports

Are you interested in participating in a variety of spring sports that will introduce basic skills and movements that progressively lead to game play? Young students will learn through fun and structured activities with an emphasis on team play, motor skill development and social interaction. Some sports that are covered include: soccer, basketball, handball, and a variety of cooperative games. Some sports may be substituted depending on ages of students. 

WATERCOLOR PAINTING

The class is opened to children in grades 2 to 6 who are interested in learning different art mediums. 

This session is composed of 5 weeks of watercolor landscape painting, 3 weeks of Christmas origami projects and 6 weeks of drawing projects.
